Book Funfair Physics 02 April 2019 Here
Can your pupils apply their creativity, work through the problems and present their solutions to brave the Rollercoaster, Star Flyer, Ferris Wheel (and all rides beyond) in a mighty quest to understand the push, pull, whirl and twirl of forces in nature and discover the simple machines make these rides possible?
At the moment Funfair Physics is tailored to years 4, 5 and 6 and bookings can only be accepted for these year groups. Bookings can also only be as class groups, with a maximum class size of 32 pupils.
Our strict safegaurding requirements mean that classes must come with 1 adult for every 6 pupils and at least two of these adults need to be teachers.
Funfair Physics is made up of different trails that take teams of pupils through different funfair rides at George Irvin’s Crystal Palace Funfair. Teams (accompanied by a school appointed adult) need to successfully complete curriculum linked questions, creative activities and problem solving exerises in order to progress through their trail of rides.
Many of the learning materials relate to forces in nature and simple machines but the event supports all areas of STEAM. These trails are tailored to different year groups and recognise any height restrictions for particular rides.
When each class arrives, they divide into two groups of 15 pupils with a teacher in each group. These groups will split into 3 teams with an adult in each team. The two groups of 15 pupils progress along different trails, but the three teams in each of these group will be on the same trail.

Adventure Learning Crystal Palace Park is now part of the Friends of Crystal Palace Park (Charity no. 1170259). All income from Funfair Physics will be used to support the Adventure Learning programme and other education programmes in Crystal Palace Park.
